Each year the Washington Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (WAFCS) and the Washington Family and Consumer Sciences Educators (WA-FACSE) plan a conference to enhance the professional skills and provide personal enrichment for our members.
Keynote Speaker – Arvin Mosley, JR
Unleash Your Inner Leader
Where does leadership come from and why is it important? In this training we will discuss how to unleash your inner leader and explore the role leadership plays in successful teams and in entire organizations. We will also explore research from around the world around what team members want and need in a leader.
From self awareness, to accepting our unique communication, learning and leading styles … we will explore ways to unleash the leader that resides inside all of us!
Each participant will leave with a personalized action plan to take the next step on their leadership journey.
Mr. Arvin Mosley is a certified Mental Performance Coach, holding a MS in Coaching. He coaches leaders and teams to maximize their talent and unleash their potential. Arvin specializes in Mindset Coaching and Peak Performance Training and has a proven track record of helping organizations and their teams to improve their ability to respond to adversity, challenge, pressure and success.
Keynote Speaker – Rhea Kimble
How to be a Trusted Adult
Rhea Kimble is the Engagement Manager for One Love in the Pacific Northwest, focused on overseeing educational programs for K-12 public schools, universities and community-based organizations. Rhea has over 10 years of experience working in non-profit assisting with outreach programs and mentoring youth through the performing arts. She studied Broadcast Journalism and Theatre Arts at the University of Miami. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Renton Historical Society and brings her passion for telling stories and building relationships to One Love.

ServSafe Foodservice Manager Training (8 STEM Clock Hours):
Washington State University Extension’s Margaret Viebrock is offering the ServSafe Manager Certification training for teachers, food service managers, culinary instructors, students and other individuals who have responsibility for teaching, learning or implementing best practices in food safety and food preparation.
Food safety training is a commitment, a mindset and a smart business practice for everyone involved in food preparation or food service operations. Trained people in the food business support safe food handling practice.
