“State of Innovation Challenge” Virtual Career Connected Learning Project

CTE Educator Input is needed for the “State of Innovation Challenge,” the Governor’s and Career Connect Washington’s new statewide virtual career connected learning project for Fall 2020/Spring 2021.

The challenge will:

  • Invite students and teachers will be invited to help the state solve one of three real world problems the state is working on right now (e.g. supporting mental health during the pandemic, re-designing public spaces for a post-COVID-19 world etc).  All the challenges are open-ended problems and connect to CTE pathways.
  • Invite teachers to share lesson plans related to the challenge with other teachers across the state via a new open educational resource site.
  • Recognize the most creative responses from students and teachers will receive special recognition at the end of challenge event. 

Please join our zoom meeting on Tuesday, September 22 at 12 pm to learn more about the challenge and help shape the final concept.

The challenge is a partnership between Career Connect Washington, WSAC, OSPI, and the WA STEM Innovation Alliance and is currently planned to run from late fall 2020-spring 2021.
