- Teacher Recruitment for Online Class
We are recruiting health/FCS teachers to take part in online paid professional development in support of our 5-lesson type 2 diabetes curriculum Health, Nutrition, and Type 2 Diabetes. Participants will receive 6 STEM clock hours and $150 for participation, plus certification to teach the unit in health classes and receive additional compensation as part of the GEMNet research study. This 6-hour class will consist of 2 hours of face-to-face instruction via Zoom, and 4 hours of self-paced work spread over 2 weeks.
We are creating structures and documents so that this class can also be taught to students in an online setting.
Send a Message to GSEDOUT@UW.EDU if you’re interested, or fill out this form so that we can get the online Zoom Sessions scheduled soon.
- Type 2 Diabetes Video Competition for High School Students
We continue to seek submissions for our Type 2 Diabetes Video Contest ($1000 prize) for High School Students. This is a great opportunity for engaging students in independent work while at home. We will be accepting videos through April 2020. Videos can be on any subject related to Type 2 Diabetes including science, risks, and careers in treatment.
