Were you aware?
Washington State has two Family & Consumer Sciences organizations that serve you!

WA-ACTE FACSE
is one of WA-ACTE (state organization) largest sections, who is affiliated with ACTE (national organization).
We have a wonderful working relationship with our sister organization, WAFCS who is affiliated with AAFCS (national organization).
Our Fall Conference, held in October every year, is a joint effort from both FCS professional organizations.  We hope that you will consider becoming a member of both organizations.

Interested in serving on the FACSE Executive Board?
* Come to the Executive Board training breakfast offered at Summer Conference!  Learn about each committee and figure out where you fit.
* No obligations to join us... BUT we'd love to talk with you and find a position that fits your strengths and abilities.
* You may have a choice of serving as a Co-Chair or simply as a committee member on a specific Co-chair Committee position.  There is place for everyone!!

Step 1: You must arrange to purchase and attend the Summer Conference Executive Board training breakfast with the incoming President for the year(s) you would like to serve.
Important information is given for each committee's work for the year, plans are made by each Committee for the work to be done that coming year, contact information is exchanged, etc.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about each committee and find out which one fits your talents and gifts.
If you are not able to attend, it is your responsibility to contact the incoming President to express your desire for service so that they can forward important information to you.

Step 2: If you accept a position as CO-CHAIR of a specific committee on the Executive Board you have additional requirements.
               * Become familiar with the Governing documents (Policies & Procedures, Bylaws, and Constitution) as they give specific information as to the work your committee should do throughout the year.
               * You must attend at least 2 of 3 meetings throughout the year you serve on the Executive Board.
               * Fulfill the requirements of your Co-Chair position which will require volunteer hours and work for completion and success of our organization.
** VERY IMPORTANT: Plan in advance and make specific arrangements with your building supervisor, CTE director, and district.  Gathering written approval may be necessary as budgets, sub coverage, and ability to participate at the state level varies from district-to-district, building-to-building. **

Interested in applying for any FACSE Executive Committee position?

* Each position carries specific terms of service (1-3 year commitment depending on the position) and it is EXTREMELY important to weigh and consider your future plans.
* It comes with a HUGE amount of fulfillment, enjoyment, leadership and professional development opportunities...
*...But also carries with it a lot of time, attention to detail, and strength of clear professional communication.

Step 1: You must have served either on the WA-ACTE FACSE Board, as an FCCLA Adviser-to-Adviser, or as an Area Chair to be eligible.

Step 2: Download the Officer Guidelines document (below).  Read to understand about the commitment needed for each position and needed items.  Contact the current FACSE Nominations Co-Chairs (via e-mail) with any questions or concerns.

Step 3: Gather needed written confirmation and/or signatures from your building supervisor, CTE director, etc. to be sure you can fulfill the requirements of the position as your attendance and participation is VERY important.

Step 4: Download the Officer Application document (below).  Fill out the required information, save to your computer, and forward to the current FACSE Nominations Co-Chairs (via e-mail).

Step 5: You should receive confirmation that your application was received.  If not, please contact the FACSE Nominations Co-Chairs to confirm receipt (via e-mail).

Step 6: Prepare your poster board and bring it with you to the Summer Conference for display.  If more information is needed to prepare for Summer Conference, you will be notified by the Nominations Co-Chair or President.

Step 7: Purchase a ticket to the Summer Conference FACSE Committee Breakfast to participate and to learn about your officer duties for your years of service on the Executive Committee.
